The Office of Student Leadership and Engagement works with the 32 social fraternities and sororities at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. These values-based organizations work to promote good scholarship, leadership opportunities and development, brotherhood/sisterhood, and service to the community.

Peer Councils

UNCW offers various different Greek-affiliated opportunities for students looking to get involved in the campus community. Panhellenic Council works closely with the Interfraternity Council (IFC), the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) and United Greek Council (UGC) in order to foster the most supportive and successful group of fraternity and sorority members possible.

Interfraternity Council (IFC)The Interfraternity Council (IFC) serves as the governing body of the 15 IFC fraternities at UNCW. IFC is a resource to facilitate the growth and development of fraternity men in the areas of personal and fraternal responsibility, leadership, scholastic achievement, civic engagement, and brotherhood.

National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) The National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) serves as the governing council for nine historically African American fraternities and sororities, five of which have active chapters at UNCW. The council fosters interaction and collaboration among its organizations through student development, social activities, community engagement and service initiatives.

The United Greek Council is an umbrella council for 2 multicultural Greek-letter organizations. Our goal is to foster a unified multicultural community, to promote scholarship, service, respect, unity and cultural awareness.
