President’s Message

Hi everyone!

Welcome to the official UNCW Panhellenic website! Whether you're a member, an alumna, or someone interested in learning more about Panhellenic life, I am thrilled to have you here! My name is Emily Miller, and I am honored to be serving as the 2024 University of North Carolina Wilmington Panhellenic President. As the President of the Panhellenic Council, I am so grateful to serve alongside such dedicated women who uphold the values of sisterhood, leadership, scholarship, and service.

UNCW is home to 11 different Panhellenic chapters, each with its own traditions and backstories. I invite you to explore our website and social media platforms to learn more about each chapter and all the incredible work they do on and off campus. Whether you're considering joining a sorority, seeking support, or simply curious about Greek life at UNCW, you are welcome here and the Panhellenic community is proud to show what our organization stands for!

The Panhellenic Council serves as a governing board for each of our National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) chapters at UNCW. Panhellenic is the largest women’s only organization on UNCW’s campus and we take pride in knowing the impact we have on our campus. Panhellenic stands for leadership and scholarship which can be seen through fostering personal and academic growth and encouraging each member to strive for excellence in all aspects of life. Above all, Panhellenic embodies the spirit of service. It's about giving back to our communities, making a positive impact, and leaving a legacy in our community. As said in our Panhellenic Creed, we strive to maintain the development of good character and fine standards. Each chapter has different experiences, but the same goal; to help women find their home in Panhellenic.

As chapters of the National Panhellenic Conference, our values stay consistent in that friendship, leadership, service, knowledge, integrity, and community, guide us in fulfilling our mission. Panhellenic women are committed to relationships built on trust through transparency, accountability, and mutual respect. We constantly support one another, aiming to better our women and our community for current and future generations. The council points up from here in this ever-changing world. This council community is safe, diverse, equitable, and inclusive for ALL women.

I want to take a moment to share a personal journey with you. I didn't join a sorority until my sophomore year, and to be transparent, I didn't sign up until the very last day of registration. I was hesitant, shy, and unsure of myself. However, looking back, I can confidently say that it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Joining a sorority has transformed me in ways I never imagined. It provided me with a community of support, a platform for growth, and countless opportunities for leadership and service. Through Panhellenic, I found my voice, gained confidence, and discovered a sense of belonging that I had been longing for. Now, as your Panhellenic President, I am immensely proud of the person I have become and the woman I continue to evolve into. My journey is a testament to the transformative power of Panhellenic sisterhood and the incredible impact it can have on one's life.

Whether being a sorority woman is something you want to do, or not, I hope that you take a leap of faith and see what this community has to offer.

On behalf of the entire Panhellenic Community, thank you for visiting our website, and we hope you enjoy learning more about the incredible sisterhood that defines Panhellenic life at UNCW!

With love,

Emily Miller

2024 Panhellenic President
